Dr. Gretchen Hutt DVM

Chief Veterinary Officer

Originally from Louisville, Ky. Dr. Gretchen graduated from University of Kentucky with an undergraduate degree and then Auburn University with a DVM in 1984. She owned a practice in Durham for 28 years and then thought she was going to retire in Wilmington. She met Phil and Amanda at Pawville and before she knew it she became the Chief Veterinary Officer at Pawville Veterinary Clinics. She doesn't really know how that happened but she is so glad that it did.

Dr. Gretchen and her husband have been section hiking on the Appalachian Trail for about 8 years and have completed almost 700 miles on it. When she's not caring for animals or hiking, she also has a love for playing Pickleball and just walking their dogs, Cooper, an 8 year old Chihuahua mix adopted from the Durham Co Animal Shelter and Nacho, a Labradoodle that was supposed to be a mini but he weighs 50lbs. Dr. Gretchen is Level 3 Fear Free certified and is totally committed to making every pet’s visit to the clinic as fear free as possible.
